Los Volcanes Farm

Nestled in the Central Valley region of Costa Rica, Cafe Los Volcanes is more than just a farm—it's the legacy of Pancho, a third-generation coffee artisan whose family has perfected their craft over decades. With the majestic Poas volcano creating the perfect microclimate for exceptional coffee, this farm embodies the pinnacle of Costa Rican coffee tradition.

Pancho's journey in coffee extends far beyond his home country. His passion has taken him across continents to study diverse brewing techniques, roasting methods, and cultivation practices from the world's coffee capitals. This global perspective, combined with generations of local knowledge, informs every aspect of his approach to coffee production.

Juanachute Mills

Juanachute is the name of this farm and mill operation, owned by Luis Anastacio Castro (or “Tacho” as his friends and family call him). Juana and Chute were the nicknames of Tachos’s great-great grandparents, who are still remembered dearly by the new generations and served as the inspiration to name the micro-mill.

In Juanachute there is vast knowledge of several processing methods, and beyond that, they have determined the perfect process for each of their farms and plots.

For this particular farm in Tarrazu it has been proven by the Juanachute team that an “anaerobic” process brings out distinctive attributes in your brew.
